I noticed yesterday in the guild news when I logged in that we had achieved the "We Are Legendary" achievement.
Now, the only person I know who was chasing after the warglaives was Fran, so own up mate if it was you...
And congrats :D

A very well done to everyone tonight. After a few weeks of very hard work and constant improvement we finally got Yor'sahj down. We had a good few runs refining our tactics on Zon'ozz as well and in a last ditch attempt we got him to 22% so another well done to everyone there, he will follow Yor'sahj shortly.

It was a good nights raiding on Monday with both teams taking down a boss in their respective raids. Team Alagros took out a boss in Dragon soul (I think that it was Morchok) and Team Draladius took out Shannox.

Hi everyone,
Over the last 12 months, I have been a bit of a liability to the guild. To start off with, at the start of Cata, I was suffering from burnout from work and through too much wow. This affected me and my ability to play and I slacked off. Then I started down the path to recovery from my burnout only to keep getting knocked back into it by one of my work colleagues. Then in the middle of the year, I hit another crisis. I suspected that I was suffering from depression and this was confirmed by a visit to the doctors and a shrink. I took a month off work and from computers (just... I spent a bit of time on them while in Oz) and I went back home to Australia to start my recovery.
While I was out in Oz, and possibly before, I started to reconnect with an old friend (of the female persuasion) who I knew from when I lived in Bristol... and we have been getting closer ever since. Things are looking good in that area and hopefully I can convince her to come and visit me and things can connect properly for us.
I am going to be looking to move into a new house soon and get a new circle of friends around me in the area I am moving to. This is going to be helped by the fact that I have another friend who lives in the area. This gives me someone who I can get out and about with to do stuff, like going to the gym and the pub on the weekends.
This is all going to be part of my recovery from the depression.
And as I recover, I will become more active in my leadership of the guild and in my raiding team.
We are a good guild, but I have let things slip too much with my RL issues affecting how I deal with stuff in the game. I cant promise at this point that I will be 100% effective from right now... but I will be working at getting things together before too much longer.
Cheers,
Mark

We currently have 1 10 man team doing progression in Dragon Soul, we have another 10 man team doing progression in Firelands. If we get enough active members, we might do a starter 10 man team, with a couple of experienced players, doing the early Cataclysm raids. While not everyone will be able to make the team every week, sometimes there are cancellations and you might be able to slot in for a couple of days. If you cant get in, feel free to invite other guildies to go on 5 man runs with you. Who know... you could end up being the raid leader of a 10 man team.
Everyone is welcome... have a nice day :D

If you want to raid, sign up on the website (using your curse login) and go to the guild forum and post your name and what days you are available to raid...
The preferance for raiding is Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Guild Statement of Intent
Of late, I have been a bit slack in looking after the people who are interested in raiding and people are getting into the habit of signing up for raids and then not showing up. First and foremost, we are not a hardcore raiding guild that requires everyone to show up before time for a raid… we can cut people a bit of slack and they can show up a bit late if needs be.
I have decided that we, the guild, needs to start progressing as a social/raiding guild and to that end, I will be reorganising things to suit this. We are doing great in the guild levelling bit and the achievements but we are slow on the raiding bit.

Magmaw... the first boss in Blackwing Descent.
The team will be made up of the following:
- 2 tank (1 tank will swap to dps for this encounter)
- 3 healers
- 5 dps (1 hunter, 2 mages, rest melee)
Before we get into the room, Alagros will be tanking as well and will take one of the two adds guarding the room. These guys are a bit like the guardians after Kolo in Ulduar in that they have to be tanked apart.
Once we get into the room, Either Alagros or Draladius will swap over to dps mode and will stand with the rest of the dps.
We need a hunter to stand away from the rest of the dps for the bosses "Pillar of Flame" ability which will cause adds to spawn. When the hunter gets the notice they are about to be hit with the Pillar of Flame, they need to lay down an ice trap to slow the adds down and run away. All ranged dps need to instantly switch to AOE'ing those adds down.
Towards the end of the first phase, Magmaw will eat the tank and at that time, two of the melee dps need to spam right click on the boss when he slams his head on the ground so they can climb up and impale his head on a spike and stick him to the ground. During phase 2, the boss does no damage and takes 50% extra damage. Because no damage is being done to the raid at this time... the healers need to regen their mana and get ready for the next phase 1 transition.
Towards the end of phase 2, all dps and healers need to stand back from the edge they will be standing on to prevent Magmaw from aggro'ing on one of them. At that point the tank should be picking him up again and then it is just rinse and repeat.
Hopefully, this will all make sense on the day and we can kick it's butt and take him down :D
